very fond...

I'm feeling a little guilty about not posting anything for such a long time. Not on here, or even a little comment or two on anyone else's blogs either. I've been a very busy bee with kids, SS&Q projects, my new apple toy and just catching up with things in general. "They" are right about one thing though... absence does make the heart grow fonder. I've very much missed my daily dose of crafty and would like to share a couple of beautiful things made for Cameron recently.


One is a divine, little quilt made in reproduction prints, with some sweet little hexagons and a fluttering of quilted butterflies. The other is a pretty stitchery of nursery toys, Cameron's name and her date of birth in lovely muted, girly, colours. Thank you to two very talented ladies in our family, Cameron's Far Mor and her Aunty Annika. We're very fond of you too!

Here it is at long last*. The first of a long, long list of projects on my to do list... the "bag of bags". We've cut out all the pieces and today I'm sewing on the binding. Pictured here with Rex the dinosaur- alien-robot made specially for me by Gabriel. I don't know if it was his attempt to scare me or cheer me up.

This morning his big brother Noah went off to his very first sleepover camp with the primary school. I think I was more nervous and stressed out about the whole thing than Noah was. He looked so grown up, with his sleeping bag and backpack, but at the same time, still my little, skinny, beanpole guy. I can't believe Gabriel will be going off to his own first camp in only two years! My babies are growing up too quickly.

It's Tuesday and I can't wait...

It's Tuesday and I can't wait... to curl up on my couch later with a cozy blanket, a cup of tea and my book... The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger .

I'm only 79 pages in, but am really, really loving it. I guess I'm just a complete sucker for romantic, time travellers (see Diana Gabaldon)!! If you've never read it, it's a very unique little story about two characters, Clare and Henry. It is quirky, funny, romantic and utterly un-put-down-able. It has a darker undertone hiding amongst the niceties, but I think that's what makes the story interesting.
